The "AzeSERT HALAL" Halal Products Certification Body was established in 2014 with the aim of improving the quality of "Halal" products, protecting consumers' rights, and increasing the competitiveness of "Halal" products. "AzeSERT HALAL" operates as a body certifying "Halal" products, in accordance with the current legislation of the Republic of Azerbaijan and the requirements of the Azerbaijan Accreditation Center, as a Certification Body for "Halal" products. The main purpose of this body, envisaged as a Certification Body for "Halal" products, is to operate in accordance with the requirements of the standards AZS OIC/SMIIC 1:2022 (OIC/SMIIC 1:2019) "General requirements for halal food" and AZS OIC/SMIIC 2:2022 "Conformity assessment - requirements for bodies performing halal certification". "AzeSERT HALAL" is the first and only accredited Certification Body for "Halal" products in the Republic of Azerbaijan.

The "AzeSERT HALAL" certification body has been accredited by the Halal Accreditation Authority (HAK) of the Republic of Türkiye. Accreditation was carried out on the basis of the standard "OIC/SMIIC 2:2019 Conformity assessment - requirements for bodies performing "HALAL" certification" of the Standards and Metrology Institute for Islamic Countries (SMIIC). As a result, the "AzeSERT HALAL" certification body has obtained the right to issue a "HALAL" conformity certificate meeting international accreditation requirements.
